CURA Hosts Charleston in Friendly
This past Saturday, March 10th, the Clemson University Rowing Association (CURA) hosted the College of Charleston’s rowing team in a friendly on scenic Lake Hartwell. Both crew teams were able to get a ‘live’ practice against able opposition, in an excellent preparation exercise for the upcoming spring sprint season. Additionally, the many participants, patrons, and viewers were treated to superb weather, a relative rarity pertaining to recent CURA events. With all manner of boats and lineups going out, each team was given ample training opportunities. CURA would like to thank the College of Charleston for partaking in this excellent event with us. Additionally, CURA now looks forward to our impending invasion of Palm City, Florida, for spring break 2012.

CURA To Invade Palm City
The Clemson University Rowing Association (CURA) is pleased to announce that we are taking our collective talents to (nearly) South Beach for this years spring break. Our team will be looking forward to an exciting week of training and team bonding in sunny Palm Beach, FL in mid March, 2012. All swimmers, surfers, and dolphins should consider themselves as our vast armada looks to dominate the waterways in ways that Sir Francis Drake could only dream of.

Hosted by Revolution Rowing, the event took place at the Riverside Military Academy and saw competitors of all ages, thanks to a diversity of entries. The trip was an excellent day for not only the novice and varsity, but those units respective coaches, who all gave great showings in their respective events.
For the novice, it was a chance to simulate a sprints experience. Most varsity and many novice were able to participate in multiple events as well, enhancing the experience for all. Clemson Crew now looks forward to a promising season this semester.

Endowment Success
1 February, 2012 In October of 2008, Clemson Crew established The Clemson University Rowing Association Endowment with a pledge goal of $25,000. The endowment was initially set-up to provide long-term monetary support for our team. We were given 5 years by the Clemson University Foundation to reach our goal. We are pleased to announce that by the generosity of our donors, we have exceeded that goal and now have a commendable balance of $31,000. As the balance of the Endowment continues to increase, the amount of funds we receive from the University will also continue to increase, making it a terrific incentive to continue supporting the future rowers of Clemson. For those who have made contributions in the past, we would like to sincerely thank-you; your generous support is greatly appreciated!
